According to French rock act Kwak, their name

refers to the sound that you make when you play a wrong note, on the harmonica or the clarinet for example.

The band will however look to avoid as many wrong notes as possible as they kick off a mammoth India tour at the Blue Frog tonight. The Parisian quartet are scheduled to play dates in locations as absurd atypical as Mysore and Trivandrum. Their music is largely straightforward (albeit with French lyrics) alternative rock, and while we’re hoping for a live performance as engaging as The Giraffes, we’ll have a better idea after the Blue Frog event.

Dates

June 9 – Blue Frog, Mumbai
June 11 – VIT Engineering College, Pune
June 13 – Indo-French Cultural Center, Bangalore
June 14 – Mahajana First Grade College, Mysore
June 16 – Alliance Française, Goa
June 18 – Town Hall, Ahmedabad
June 19 – Sector 17 Plaza, Chandigarh
June 21 – Alliance Française, Chennai
June 23 – Tagore Theatre, Trivandrum
June 25 – G.B. Birla Sabhagar Auditorium, Kolkata
