Len - Steal My SunshineFew summer pop songs are as quintessential as Len’s 1999 sleeper hit ‘Steal My Sunshine’. In fact, few summer albums are as prototypical of summer fun as You Can’t Stop The Bum Rush, an album that, on May 25, will be a decade old. But more on that later.

Marc and Sharon (“Sharon, I love you!” *ref album version*) Costanzo put together a terribly precocious tribute to young, summer love that didn’t really stand for anything but represented everything fun about life in the late ’90s. Orange scooters, beaches, alcohol; in their drunken stupor the Canadian band took us through seaside fun in only the most memorable dizzy haze. For Indian teenagers battling burgeoning school bags, girls and ADD, the song (and its video) was the promised land.

We’ve been revisiting You Can’t Stop The Bum Rush all this week. Now’s your turn.
