It took a long time for Indian bands to get web 2.0 and social network friendly. They started out slow – a few bands grappled Soundclick, Reverbnation, obscure music networks. Then MySpace happened and soon everyone from Parikrama to Yaana Gupta was on it.
Twitter’s a slightly different ball game. For one, a majority of Indian bands don’t have blogs, and those that do, blog infrequently. Bands just don’t have enough to say (ooh, low blow?). Apart from their music that is (and save). But a few artists have bravely taken on the challenge and put their thoughts into 140-character tweets. While some of our musicians use the service as a promotional tool, others give us an insight to their lives, and the rest grapple, to our entertainment, with the concept.
Here’s a list of Indian musicians on Twitter. Follow at your own risk
