TFA music award winners Another Vertigo Rush are giving away their debut album Murphy’s Law as a free download. In a post on the RSJ forums, the band explained
After making monumental amounts of money solely through ‘selling’ our albums, enough for us to live off the royalties for the rest of our lives, being the ‘generous’ and ‘charitable’ sole’s that we are, we thought we’d pull a Scribe or a Radiohead by giving YOU the album for free.
Considering we probably do’nt need to lift a finger to do anything anymore since we can hire zillions of lemmings to do our deeds, because of the aforementioned large sums of money ofcourse, ( *cough*), never before seen by the ‘scene’ / ‘industry’ / ‘group of stoners meeting in the parking lots’ , We thought we’d Blah Blah Obama Blah Recession Blah Blah World War III..blah blah… 2012 .. ok this needs to end.
CD sales of international rock acts in India being abysmal, it’s hard to expect homegrown indie talent to fare better. And while a feasible digital sales format still seems far away, we expect more bands to take the free download route with their music. AVR had earlier offered downloads of three songs from the album. They’ve also been nominated in the Best Rock Song category at AVIMA 2009 for their song ‘Om’.
