Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka Shankar last played India in Nov-Dec ’08 with Jethro Tull and hit a few cities including Mumbai (in the aftermath of the Nov 26 attacks). Shankar will hit Kolkata on Feb 7 to play The Dover Lane Music Conference (an Indian classical music conference) with her father Pt Ravi Shankar.

According to the Blue Frog gig calendar for February, she may also play two dates in Mumbai – Feb 14, 15. Blue Frog’s great sound setup will make an ideal venue for her gig, though as of now, these dates are yet to be confirmed.

Currently, Shankar is on a mini-tour of the US with the Orpheus orchestra (who perform without a conductor). Dates

29th January: Easton, PA
30th January: South Orange, NJ
31st January: Carnegie Hall, New York, NY

More news about her India gigs as we hear it.
