Slumdog Millionaire

The awards bonanza that is Danny Boyle’s Slumdog Millionaire is seeing much love for AR Rahman’s work on the film. Rahman picked up a Satellite Award (they’re to the Golden Globes what the Golden Globes are to the Oscars) for Best Original Score at the 13th instalment of the awards held recently.

The song ‘Jai Ho’ (Rahman, Sukhwinder Singh, Tanvi Shah, Mahalakshmi Iyer) from the soundtrack lost the Best Original Song award to ‘Another Way to Die’ (Jack White, Alicia Keys) from Quantum Of Solace, though it is suprising that ‘Paper Planes’ (M.I.A) was not nominated instead.

Rahman’s work has already earned him a Golden Globe nomination and it is likely that he will also get an Oscar nom.
