The lineup for Live Earth India (Dec 7, 2008) has been confirmed and includes, among others, Roger Waters, will.i.am, Anoushka Shankar and (announced earlier) Bon Jovi.
According to an official statement
Joining Grammy-winners Bon Jovi and Live Earth India spokesperson and actor, Amitabh Bachchan is a list of global superstars including Roger Waters, Will.I.Am, Anoushka Shankar, Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Hrithik Roshan, Preity Zinta, Bipasha Basu, Shiamak Davar, Farhan Akhtar, Arjun Rampal, Purab Kohli, Hard Kaur, Jalebee Cartel, Vishal & Shekhar, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, Sunidhi Chauhan, Sonu Nigam and Shaan.
That’s a pretty big list, and Indian indie fans will be disappointed to note that apart from Jalebee Cartel, NO OTHER INDIAN INDIE ACT MAKES THE GIG.
That’s a bummer. But hey, Roger Waters is back and that dude from the Black Eyed Peas makes an Indian debut, so all can’t be lost.
Tickets are on sale via Bookmyshow, via phone on 39895050 and in-store at Rhythm House (South Mumbai), Hiro Music (Bandra) & Music World (Malad). Their priced not too bad at Rs 625, Rs 1250 and Rs 2500 a pop depending on how close you want your humps to will.i.am.
More details as they come.
