Music stores in India either surprise or disappoint. In Store takes a look at whatâ??s on offer, where music is sold.
The Jam

Rhythm House at Fort is one of the few remaining ‘independent’ music stores with cred. They have a great collection of music and a growing set of music DVDs. One of the coolest on sale is pictured above. The Complete Jam is a collection of the cult Brit band’s singles and loads of live footage. If you’re thinking about what to do with Rs 1,200 that you’ve got lying around, think no more.

Also on sale is Brute Force’s new CD Force Fed. The Pune based metal act (signed to Counter Culture Records) released said album (their debut) this year and played in Mumbai recently as well.

Rhythm House has a great collection of earphones and headphones from top brands like Koss and Sennheiser. The Koss in-ears are particularly well priced (Rs 1,500 upwards) though if you’re looking for a solid set of hardware with a great range and a budget price, check out the ones from Cresyn. At Rs 1,000 they’re the best value for the grand.
