When Al Gore says Bon Jovi’s coming to India, it usually happens. On the 7th of December, Mumbai will play host to Live Earth India at the Andheri Sports Complex (from where Michael Jackson once emerged out of a spaceship).
Live Earth ’08 will be a one venue deal as compared to last year’s 24 hours, four continents, multiple cities gig. It is true that the organisers probably realised the environmental damage caused by said international concerts and therefore decided to host it in a country immune to environmental progress. To top it off, Kevin Wall, the Live Earth founder, made this remark
India is not the country that created the climate crisis, but it is a developing nation and we need to open doors for local environmental organisations to create consciousness here
Bon Jovi is the first international artist to confirm participation at the event. According to the press release we should expect
world-renowned musicians and performers, environmental advocates and celebrities from India, the U.S. and all over the globe
Bon Jovi is the “Live Earth India western headliner”. Bets on for other ‘international’ acts.
