My boys are out with their new album Dig Out Your Soul on the 6th of October. They’ve embarked on a world tour, and Noel’s already got himself injured via music fan/assailant.
For tomorrow’s gig in New York, the band has taken the assistance of several street musicians from the city. The performers (reported to be more than 30 in number) will perform new Oasis songs at various locations across the city including Times Square, Penn Station, Astor Place and Grand Central subway platforms. The Gallaghers + Gem + Andy, will have an ‘intimate’ rehearsal session with the performers before the promotion kicks off.
This is (obviously) an awesome idea, and one that could definitely create buzz for international acts coming to India. The next time Scorpions arrive here I wouldn’t mind a dholak version of ‘Rock You Like a Hurricane’ at Churchgate.
Dig Out Your Soul releases first in Japan on October 1.
Update: Oasis cancelled the NYC show. Buskers still on though.
