Will the contenders for best music info please stand up? On the one hand we have Wikipedia and its gazillion pages with 200×200 album art. On the other hand we have SoundUnwound, the poorly named pretender from the house of Amazon.

Kicked off only a few days ago, SoundUnwound is pretty much exactly like a music wiki with some clever little features. Like the Timeline feature with spreads and artist’s discography on a, er, timeline that is a real line. It also throws up relevant YouTube videos for the selected artist and links to Amazon pages where you can purchase the band’s music.

Unlike Wikipedia however, you need to be registered to make add/make changes to information on pages. And changes only appear after they’ve been moderated. So that’s the suck.

Still, given that this is an Amazon project, we know it’ll only get better after marketing.
