With an investment of $8.5million to date, The Filter seems destined for failure. It may be early days, but the beta of the website, which doesn’t have a live date yet, doesn’t impress at all. In fact, if you’re on Last.fm and/or Flixster, this just seems another waste of filling up registration info.

However, Gabriel has already managed to get the Nokia Music Store and MSN Music to partner with him on this venture. He also told CNN

“But if you have this little friend on your shoulder, that can pick out music to listen to and films to look it, it’s something I would use provided I could steer it a little.”

Sure, in 2003 maybe. I love stuff like this that’s never a good idea.
