May Gig Roundup
May promised a lot. With over 40 gigs in the month, there was much live music to look forward to. Here’s a look back at the good, bad and ugly of the May gigs that Indiecision attended.

Head downstairs for all the awards!

Best Gig Award: Dub L.F.O. @ Blue Frog

This gig just edged out Da-Saz’s performance a few nights earlier.”When an Israeli band plays Jamaican music in India to an audience of equal part foreigners and Indians, you know globalisation is doing its job.”

Worst Gig Award: Ashutosh Phatak @ Blue Frog

Yup, it wasn’t good.

Biggest Disappointment Award: Alisha Batth @ Hard Rock

Her covers were a great reflection of the original artists but poor reflections of herself.

Come Back Again Award: Da-Saz

Sublime instrumentation coupled with a witty lead singer makes for a pretty good live performance.

Stupidest Gig Bit Award: Ashutosh Phatak @ Blue Frog

When it was announced at 10:00pm (for a 9:30pm start) that the gig would only start at 10:30pm because â??Ashu is going to play one long set and itâ??s better heard late.” Sure enough, the gig started at 10:45.
