Blue Frog

With 300 bucks entry and a menu that intimidates rather than invites, Blue Frog is a place not really suited for hungry, middle class, music lovers. An interesting feature in yesterday’s Mumbai Mirror rates Mumbai clubs on a VFM parameter. Of course it uses a standard that’s already pretty high, but it still comes to some vivid conclusions.

It says of Blue Frog (given a 1 out of 3 rating)

Blue Frog promised a great concept when they started. But they put off patrons by lecturing Mumbai on restaurant etiquette within 10 days of its opening. They have brought down some good acts, opening up the live scene. But the pricing and high-handed attitude of the management makes the club accessible only to an elitist yuppie crowd, the irony being that a music culture music can only sustain if the environment is democratic. Also, ask for a domestic beer and they will say they’ve run out of it, while a pile of your domestic stares at you in the bar.

Indiecision vouches. Blue Frog, are you listening?
