Shaa’ir + Func, “We Won’t Rest”

The new Time Out has a huge cover story on indie labels in India, but more on that later. Hidden in the Music section is an interview (courtesy Groovebox) with much talked about electro outfit Shaa’ir + Func. Their new album, Light Tribe, will be out later this month on Blue Frog Records and apparently it’s been recorded in three cities – Mumbai, London and New York.

The interview talks about Light Tribe and is an interesting read. Especially this little bit

In one of our songs [â??Freedomâ?], thereâ??s a lyric that goes, â??We wonâ??t rest.â? Thereâ??s no point in sitting down and taking a break and when you want to write your second album, you go to studio and spend three months [holed up] inside.

This is a quote from Randolph Correia; the same guy who also plays guitar for Pentagram; the same band who’s newest album was delayed by over two years.
