Pubrockfest 2008 Gets Dated

RSJ’s successful multi-city gig venture, Kingfisher Pubrockfest, has been pushed back a few days than its previous scheduled start. In an email sent by the magazine the date confusion was clarified.

Please Note: The Kingfisher Pubrockfest will start from 10th May from Pune
The event scheduled on 1st May in Delhi will not be happening. The Delhi leg of Kingfisher Pubrockfest will start from 15th May 2008.

This year Pubrockfest heads to 20 cities with 60 gigs across the country. Last year I attended a particularly killer Superfuzz gig at Razz as part of the festival. Looking forward to more of the same. Read more about Pubrockfest and cities where the gigs will be held after the break.

The Pubrockfest website hasn’t been updated with any details, and still shows last year’s stuff. As with most RSJ info mailers, this too was sent twice. Till now.

The concept of Pubrockfest was initiated by Rock Street Journal in 2005, when a humble beginning was made with a 4 gig festival featuring 12 bands in Delhi. It marked the beginnings of a club rock culture in the Capital, which sustained beyond the festival.. Last year, Kingfisher Pubrockfest was taken to 7 cities and 30 gigs. This year, it is bigger than ever, going into 20 cities and 60 gigs over May, June and July.

Kingfisher Pubrockfest this year will see some of the greatest names in the music circuit, along with many new acts and two international acts touring the country.
